Children and young people

Round 1.700 children from Varaždin are members of some organized preschool form. The city of Varaždin is the founder of one institute and it financially supports eight further kindergartens; founder of one is a religious community.

The city of Varaždin has founder rights in seven elementary schools and „Tomislav Špoljar“center - the upbringing and education center. Round 4.000 elementary school students attend these 8 schools. Since 2008 all schools in Varaždin have one school session a day.

Special attention is given to students with developmental handicaps, integrated in regular classes with the help of a teaching assistant.
